Out of the Box...

...and onto a bag!!!

Hi all :)
I was soooooo happy...thrilled...excited...erm...can you tell I was just a tiny bit pleased...to have been picked for Elisabeth's Digi GDT?!! ^.^ Thanks for the honour Elisabeth xx

I just wanted to show you a couple of things that I made with the digi's available, but with a difference! Much as I love making cards, occasionally I like to do something different, and also show that you can do as much with digi's as you can with rubber stamps. This time I have decorated a plain, canvas shopping bag, with a printed and then coloured transfer of A Tasty Read, and a matching shrink plastic key ring. So simple...but very effective and eye catching. I've had many lovely comments as I've wandered about :)
The other thing I have made is a notebook. This started life as a boring, stripy covered notebook from the supermarket. I've taken the spiral out and totally covered both covers...decorated the front and reassembled it. I also made the shrink plastic charm dangle. The glory of using digi images is that you can print them in any size. The image used for the bag is much, much larger than the image for the shrink plastic charm used on the notebook.
I hope you like them, and that it's given you some ideas to take your digi use a step further.

You'll find these over here on my blog...
Take care and enjoy the rest of the weekend x
Love 'n' hugs ... Lydia

Lydia, these are so dang cute and very great imagination you have. I have never use shrink wrap and after seeing your creations I would like to try it. Did you stamp right onto the bag? They are both adorable!

An excellent job Lydia. Wowee, you've really inspired me to get working on a notebook now. I'd also like to know if you stamped straight onto the bag and coloured with copics? Will it not run in the wash? Well done!

Hi all...thanks for your lovely comments and apologies for a late reply x
For the bag I printed the image onto transfer paper and coloured it in (very carefully, or it tears up the paper) with ProMarkers. I've then ironed it onto the bag. I guess the ironing part heat sets the ink as I've also done T shirts this way and never had any problem with washing x You can also iron on the printed image and colour after...but I don't know what it's like for washing that way x
The shrink plastic is the one that you can run through the printer...it's more flexible than the normal type.
Hope that helps...have fun!
