I have a little something to share with you today. I have been at it again with my altering and bringing some "old" items back to life.
About 2 years ago, during a week of cleaning out the attic of an old house where some religious Sisters live, I came across some treasures that were going to be thrown away. What I am about to show you is one of them. I just KNEW there was a reason I saved this little trinket box.
Here is what it originally looked like.
This box was covered in fabric, and the lid had once been attached with the same fabric, and the top was slightly padded with what looked like quilting batting. This poor box just struck me as unique, and I had to have it. I knew that some day I would do something with it.
I recently had the perfect opportunity... As many of you might know, Elphine House Australia recently had a DT Call. Well... This was one of the things I worked on, and entered for the DT Call. I am also proud to announce that I made the team. I'm still on cloud nine. Because working with Elisabeths designs has got to be THE MOST enjoyable thing to do in my spare time.
Anyway, it's time to see this old treasure brought back to life, don't you think??
I will also have this posted on my blog where the pictures will be a little bit bigger, OR, you can simply click on the picture to see it full sized.

I used 2 layers of lace for connecting the lid to this box, in the same fashion that the fabric was used to connect it. This box had the fabric removed, and then recovered with papers from K&Company.
I combined "Pati's Kisses" and "I Love You This Much" from Elisabeth's Digi Collection, and then did some masking, to add "Beary Big Hugs" from Belles 'n Whistles. Don't these 3 girls look adorable together? You may also notice the quilled butterfly. Really, I don't doing quilling that often, but I really wanted it on this box. I have decided that I'm going to place this on my dresser for my trinkets and odds and ends. It reminds me of my sisters, which is why I chose to use the sentiment that I did.
So now I have something a bit vintage that looks brand new. Can't beat that, right?
