"Little Angel Rachel" Note pad & pen set

Greetings Everyone!!! I'm finally here with a little something to share with you...
I feel like I haven't posted here in ages. I think I was keeping busy with backgrounds and layouts etc. BUT... everything looks like it's in order so far....

So today I have a little note and pen set to share with you. This one happened on a whim but I absolutely LOVE how it turned out.

I used Elisabeths adorable Digi, "Rachel Little Angel" for this. I think she's due for a little bit of of the spotlight, don't you think? I don't know about you, but I think she's ADORABLE!!!

This little note holder  was made from a half of a box from a bar of soap.  LOL... You see, it's always good to save such things.  You never know when or what part of it you could use.  I carefully unfolded it, and opened it up flat, and then covered with my DP of choice.  Which really doesn't show in this photo, but you'll have to believe me that you can see it on the sides.

Once that was done, I decided that I wanted to create a 3D or popped out pumpkin.  So I used my Nestabilities, and cute a total of 6 ovals, so that I would have the pumpkin on both the front and the back.  I used one of my embossing folders, to give it the pumpkin swirls on each piece, and then lightly brushed some perfect pearls over it just sort of randomly.  This gave it the "shimmery but grungy look", which I sometimes like to do.

I set out to assemble my pumpkin box.  Using pop dots for the center pieces of the pumpkin, and then adding the adorable Little Rachel Angel to it.  She just reminded me of a cute little pixie in a pumpkin patch.  ha ha....

I then created a faded design of Little Rachel on regular 8.5 x 11 size computer printer paper,  The images are small, and light, so that they don't over power the paper.  I then cut the paper into pieces all are 3 x 4 inches in size.  I did this until I filled the box with little note papers.

Still thinking I wanted something more for this little note set, I thought a pen would be fun.  So I took a standard Bic brand pen and carefully took it apart.
The main tube part was wrapped in matching paper, and then coated with clear glossy accent.  Then rolled in tiny TINY glass beads.  Once dry, I colored Little Rachel again on Shrink plastic, and tied beading string to it, and tucked it inside the end of the pen.  I then popped that little end cap on, which holds the string tightly.  The rest of the pen was put back together, and I was finished.

I have to admit that this whole thing from Starting the Box, to finishing the Pen was really just a bunch of trial and error things.  I really didn't run into any troubles, so it all went fairly smoothly.  I think I'd like to try this again sometime, only next time maybe a little bigger.  LOL

Thanks so much for reading all of my rambling.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my little Rachel pumpkin note pad and pen set.  I think I'll be using this often, especially since I'm ALWAYS looking for a small piece of paper to write something on.  It will be nice to see Little Rachel each time I write something, don't you think?
