Spread a Little Cheer

Happy Wednesday Digi Bell Friends!  I hope you are all beginning to feel the signs of Spring the way that I have been the last couple of days.  (Well, at least on my side of the hemisphere)...  =)

I thought I would share a little project that I made using "Rachel Little Angel" from Elisabeth Bells Digital Collection.  Elisabeth definitely named this little doll appropriately.
She truly is an angel.  Just too cute!

I created a seed packet!  I have put some wild flower seeds inside, and thought that it would make a great little gift packet to give away for the welcoming of Spring.

When I began coloring little Rachel, I started out using Copics, mostly for hair and skin.  I then decided to switch things up a little bit and use my Stampin' Up water color pencils.  So I do have a bit of a mixed media look to my image here.  Each of the little punched flowers that I used were also colored using the water color pencils.

I kept the back of the seed packet quite simple really, only adding a small circle to use as the closure.
This image is also an Elisabeth Bell design, but is licensed to Belles 'n Whistles.  I didn't seal this packet for the picture, but it has double sided tape there, so that once it's closed, I wouldn't attempt to open it again until I was ready to use the seeds.

Are you all getting ready for the blog hop that is coming up at the end of this week?
Be here on Friday, at 9:00 AM (Arizona Time) for a look at this months newest addition to Elisabeth's Digital Collection.  Be prepared for a surprise, and a couple of fun chances to win.

Thanks for stopping by today, if any of you decide to create a seed packet, I'd love to take a peek.  =)

A Little Bit of Altered Fun for Summer....

Greetings Elisabeth Bell fans...  I do believe I have completely lost my marbles... or maybe it was my "flip-flops"...  I have a little story to tell you, before I show you something I altered just for Summer.

Some of you may know already, that I work at a school for special needs kids, with severe behavioral problems.  If you don't know it, guess what?  NOW you DO! ha ha...

About a month ago, a girl who used to work there came in for a visit, and she brought at least 3 HUGE bags of "FLIP FLOPS"  Every single pair were brand new, and still had their plastic hangers on them, and tied together the way that they have them in stores.  She knew someone who wanted to donate them.  Many of the kids got to take several pairs, but they only were in smaller kids sizes...  Well that still left us with oodles and oodles of "Flip-Flops".  Well... I was determined that I WOULD find a way to do something with a pair of flip-flops....
Sooooo..... HERE COMES SUMMER!!!

It's a Flip Flop Wall Hanging - isn't it so summery, and fun?  I used "Little Best Friends" from Elisabeth Bells Digital Gallery, as well as "Tube Wear" and "Bronzing Beauty" from Belles 'n Whistles.  I thought this would be a fun decoration to hang up during the Summer Season.

Rather than having the back of one flip-flop overlapping the other, I traced it with a marker where I wanted it to overlap, and then used a hot knife to trim one of the flip-flops, so they would fit perfectly together.  I then used Hot Glue, to connect them, so it's now all one piece.  The rest is self explanatory, as I'm sure you can see, it was just all about layout and embellishing.  I coated the sign that says "Welcome Summer" with clear crackle paint for effect.

Sooooo, there it is, one of my craziest of altered items, but ohhhh it was SOOOO MUCH FUN!!!  and SEE?  I knew I would find a nice use for those flip-flops.  =)

My Sweet Teddy

Good Morning!

This is Denise and today is my day to post here on the Digi Bells blog. I have a new card to share with you using a sweet Belles 'n Whistles stamp.

This is my card using the stamp "Eden with Teddy."

For this card, I've colored my image with Copics and then added some stickle accents. The papers are My Minds Eye "Lost and Found" which are new to my stash. I've distressed the edges with scissors. I've embellished with flowers, ribbon, and a teddy bear charm.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We hope you have a great Monday!

Winter Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Today I have a very cute card to show you... Well "I think" it's cute anyway.. ha ha

I just really REALLY needed to start making some birthday cards again, and thought that I would make this a "wintery" one.  So I used just PART of Elisabeths "Frosty The Snowman" Digi (Which you can find here)

What do kids do when they have a birthday party in the winter???  Do they go outside and build a snowman?  I KNOW that they do, at least my son used to like to do that with his friends.  I hate to show you the types of snowmen he built though, they usually looked evil, and dressed like a hockey player...  He even added big eyebrows on them. ha ha...  typical boys!!!

Well, at least this sweet little girl is building an absolutely Perfect snowman!

If you look closely here, you can see that I did a lot of paper piercing.  I have to say it was such fun to create a blustery winter look with a piercer.  It really gives the illusion of snow and wind, doesn't it?   To use this image, and not have that adorable little boy with his hand on the snowman, I had to erase him before printing this half of the image out.  Of course there was a tiny blank spot on the side of the snowman where the boys hand once was, but that was a quick fix with just one simple pen line.  =)

I colored my flowers to match, using Stampin' Up ink, in Baroque blue and Pomegranate.
The image is colored with Copics, and the papers are from Bo Bunny.

Would you like to see the inside?

The inside is fairly simple, with some matching Bo Bunny papers, and another adorable image designed by Elisabeth Bell for Belles 'n Whistles.  This sweet little girl is called "Belle with Cupcake"  Isn't she a sweetie?

Well, that's all I have to show you today.  Are you thinking about entering our Guest DT Call?  You only have THIS WEEK to enter.  I can't wait to see what wonderful creative pieces of "art" we'll see entered.

An Elisabeth Bell COMBO.... You won't believe what I did!!!

Happy Happy Thursday....

Wait... just wait until you see what craziness I've done?  LOL  You see, I knew that today would be my day to post here, as well as on the Belles 'n Whistles blog.  Soooooooo, with our Lovely and ever so talented Elisabeth Bell being the artist for both places, I did something just a little bit different this month...  You will notice the image, or shall I say the images....  I combined the darling little "Belle with Teddy" from "Belles 'n Whistles" and then added "I Love You This Much" Digi image from Elisabeth Bells Digital Collection. Let me tell you it was FUN FUN FUN....

Every month, I've been faithfully creating a Birthday Calendar page using a Belles 'n Whistles Stamp.  In another couple of months I will have a completed calendar, to keep my birthday reminders in....

Don't these two darling girls look like they are meant to be together???  I just couldn't resist combining them.

I decided not to embellish this page too much, simply because I felt that it was already busy enough, with the printed papers and all, and I really didn't want to subtract from these adorable girls.

If you are interested in creating a Calendar page yourself,   You can get the template by clicking on the link on the right side bar of The Belles 'n Whistles Blog...

Okay, that's all from me today, I had a lot of fun working with these two girls together, and finding a way to combine my project to work for both posts that I had today.

Thanks for stopping by today!!!

Hello there,
I thought that I would give a formal introduction and tell you a little bit about me and my love for Elisabeth Bell designs.  First and foremost though, I just have to tell you all how VERY TRULY HONORED I am to have been chosen to be on this Digital DT.

My name is Lynda Nielsen, and have been stamping for approximately 2.5 years now.  If you only knew how it all started, LOL  *WARNING* WARNING* (This post could get long winded)  LOL

I work as a Teachers Assistant in a School for Special Needs children,  at the time I was working with twin boys in Kindergarten, both of which were blind.  Since kindergarten students are always coloring, and making projects it was a normal thing for me to help make these projects with these two boys.  This was something that they really couldn't do themselves since they couldn't see.  I just loved these little guys, and would often times color their projects, or put their projects together, so that they could bring home their completed things just like other kids in the class were doing.   A co-worker in the classroom had decided that I was FULLY ENJOYING all of my coloring etc, and thought I would have fun with a scrapbook.  For Christmas that year she got me my very first scrapbook.... It was a matter of 2 or 3 months and I started card making.  I shutter every time I look back at some of those cards!  LOL

I got myself into the blogging world after collecting some rubber stamps, Stampin' Up just wasn't cutting it for me, I wanted these adorable little people on my cards....  Starting out with some Magnolia stamps, I soon found Whiff Of Joy,  and joined in on one of their Christmas Advent Calendar Giveaways.  I won, and I ended up with my VERY FIRST Elisabeth Bell designed rubber stamps.  Ohhhh I was in heaven!!!  Now try not to laugh too hard.... Remember I told you that I shutter to look back at those old cards, but here is the card I made way back when with that very first Whiff of Joy stamp.

2008

I kept working at it, I kept playing along in challenges, and getting ideas along the way.  About a year ago, I was chosen to be on the design team for Belles 'n Whistles. A brand new company, a subdivision of Roses on Paper.  I LOVED Roses on Paper, and I had come to know and love Summer and her RoP DT girls.  So imagine how high I was flying when I made the brand new company's DT.  Well guess what?  Who do you think designs for Belles 'n Whistles?  None other than Elisabeth Bell herself!  =)

Here are a couple of cards I made in 2009 using stamps from Belles 'n Whistles

I could go on and on, but those are just a few of my favorites from last year....  I could show you favorites from this year, but rather than do that, I thought I would continue on, since I am already writing a book here!  LOL

When Elisabeth decided to create her own digi images, she recruited the DT from Belles 'n Whistles to create something so she had some examples to show with her new Digi images.  So for each release, we got to make something to send to Elisabeth with her new design.  What an honor that was to work with those images.

2010

When I saw that Elisabeth was having a DT Call, there was no question about it, I JUST HAD to give it a try....  I was on cloud nine when I saw my name there as a chosen designer.  I have been SOOOO LUCKY to have already had the chance to work with her designs, and now I'm working with them some more.  Being part of the Belles 'n Whistles DT and now Elisabeth Bells Digi DT has been a dream come true for me.  I believe I've come a long way since coloring kindergarten projects, and definitely from the looks of the first card that I showed here, OH MY.....  LOL

Needless to say, I tend to be a bit chatty when I post, I try not to, but it never works out in my favor.  My posts often times look like another chapter in a book.  But hey, at least it's a picture book, right?

If you've come this far, and read all of this jibber-jabber, I want to thank you for sticking with me through it...  I'm looking forward to all the new and exciting things to come here on this brand new blog and joining Elisabeth in her journey into the Digi world.  =)
